Ruin of a mine hoist in northern Arizona - stock photo
Ruin of a mine shaft at Cerbat, a ghost town in the Cerbat Mountains in Mohave County, Arizona. Mining in the area began in the late 1860s and a camp was established. When photographed in 2009 there were a few wooden buildings and stone foundations, including a large mill and a post office. The post office closed in June 1912 at which time the town became a a distant memory.
