Central Public Library, St Peter's Square, Manchester, 1930 - 1934. The upper dome ring being hoisted into position during the construction of the Central Public Library. The Central Public Library was designed by E Vincent Harris. The steel frames were manufactured by Banister, Walton and Co Ltd. The image also shows a temporary erection tower (with posters attached), and workmen climbing an adjoining ladder.
