Space Shuttle Atlantis Lift Off from the Kennedy Space Center, Part I
The Space Shuttle Atlantis launches from Cape Canaveral to accomplish mission STS-117 (ISS assembly flight 13A). The launch of STS-117 marked the 250th orbital human spaceflight. The footage is a NASA handout taken from the historic archives which are public domain. In order to maintain the best quality, the black bars appearing in the original footage were not removed.
