MS: In interview, Daniels says, "He really wants to have that connection with the woman." MS: In interview, Moses says, "I don't really have a particular height or look that I'm looking for. I just think it's a chemistry thing." MS: In interview, Daniels says, "I want to find somebody for him that loves to laugh and have a good time, and who's outdoorsy and athletic and who will really appreciate his charisma and how funny he is." MS: In phone conversation, Daniels says, "He has a hysterical personality. So funny. He tells the funniest jokes." MS: In phone conversation, Daniels says, "He also has a black belt in karate, so he's very athletic. Goes to karate a couple of times a week, and he looks really cute in his little karate outfit." MS: In phone conversation, Daniels says, "Yeah, so I actually thought that you'd be great for her because you're so funny." MS: In interview, Daniels says, "The thing about Karen that struck me is that she--since she's a little bit older than the other two singles, she seems to really know specifically what it is that she's looking for." MS: In interview, Dinkins says, "Let's see, tall, attractive, smart, confident, outgoing, sense of humor." MS: In interview, Daniels says, "She's been married before, and she's now divorced. And so I think that because of that she was able to sort of give us a very specific description." MS: Dinkins' hands writing on a piece of paper. MS: In interview, Dinkins says, "I like a person that's family-oriented. A person that, hm, is compassionate, has a sense of caring about a person." MS: In phone conversation, Daniels says, "Very laid back, soft personality. Just really easy to get along with. She's kind of a combination of somebody who likes to go out and see new things, but also somebody who is a bit of a homebody." MS: In interview, Daniels says, (partially in VO) "I've come up with a great person for each one of our singles. I have someone terrific for Bryce, and someone terrific for Laura, and someone terrific for Karen." MS: Moses speaking. MS: Deckers smiling. MS: Dinkins smiling. Author of "Samantha's Table" Samantha Daniels is in-studio to discuss matchmaking.Daniels notes, what I I try to do is get a vibe off of them, to understand the kind of person that they're looking for and the kind of person that they're not looking for. And I spend a little time thinking about `Who do I see this person walking down the street with or--in 20 or 30 years, laughing at the same jokes, finding the same things to be annoying?' Some people come in with a preconceived notion, some people aren't really sure what they want. And what I try to do is to listen to what they say, read between the lines, and make sure that they have realistic expectations. I want to introduce them to someone who fits what they're looking for, but at the same time somebody who will equally like them. Well, I think that people aren't really sure what's going to happen, and so what I try to do is put two people together who have as many things in common as possible. Well, I try to make them have as realistic expectations as possible. And when I tell my clients about the person that I'm going to set them up with, I almost undersell so when they get there they're more pleasantly surprised. Because if I went on and on and on making the person that they were going to meet seem like the best person in the whole world, then, no matter what, they'd be disappointed. So I want them to get there and I want them to get really excited about who they're seeing and who they're finding. (For Moses I found)a great woman. Her name is Sherry. Very cute, very fun, very upbeat. I think they're really going to get along. For Karen we have a great guy who's going to balance Karen really well because he is a homebody like she is, and at the same time he loves the city and to be outdoorsy and athletic. Laura, terrific woman, and we have a great guy for her to get her to understand a little bit more that work is only work and you need to balance. She needs a very sophisticated guy, but at the same time he used to do the work thing all the time, and now he's balancing work and play. And I want him to help Laura understand that that's important, too. 8:44:47 Insert graphic plug for 'today.msnbc.com'
