Muslims in Kosovo welcome holy month of Ramadan
PRISTINA, KOSOVO - MARCH 10: Muslims in Kosovo welcomed the Islamic holy month of Ramadan on Sunday night, March 10.
Video was captured by Anadolu (AAVN) on Sunday (March 10) shows Muslims are performing taraweeh prayer in Pristina's Sultan Mehmet Fatih Mosque.
Ramadan is a month-long Islamic holy period observed by Muslims around the world. It is a time of fasting from sunrise to sunset, during which Muslims refrain from eating, drinking, smoking, and engaging in sinful behavior.
It is a time of spiritual reflection, prayer, and contemplation, as well as a time for self-discipline, self-control, and self-improvement. The fasting during Ramadan is intended to cleanse the mind, body, and soul, and to strengthen the bond between the individual and Allah.
It is also a time for charity and helping those in need, as well as for spending quality time with family and friends. (Footage by Erkin Keci /Anadolu Agency via Getty Images)
