Man Drives Tesla While Wearing Apple Vision Pro

A man who posted video of himself wearing an Apple Vision Pro while driving a Tesla on February 2 has said the video was filmed for a skit, and that he wasn't pulled over by police, as he initially claimed. The video was posted to the X account of Dante Lentini, whose https://dante.co/ website describes him as a 21-year-old NYU computer science student who is based in Palo Alto, California. Lentini told Storyful he filmed the video in the West Hartford area of Connecticut on February 2. Storyful has geolocated part of the footage to South Windsor, which is close to West Hartford. The video shows Lentini driving a Tesla while wearing the Apple Vision Pro, including several seconds where his hands are not on the wheel. The footage ends with shots of police vehicles with their lights on behind his car. Lentini told Storyful he was not pulled over by police, as is suggested in the video. Gizmodo https://gizmodo.com/apple-vision-pro-tesla-driver-arrested-autopilot-1851224830 reported that Lentini initially posted on X that he had been arrested but he later removed the posts. Lentini said he put the headset on for five to 10 second increments and that he had it on "for no more than 30 to 40 seconds while driving" in total. "Just did it for the video, also had it on transparency mode so it just showed the road in front of me," Lentini said. https://support.apple.com/en-au/guide/apple-vision-pro/c0c84db82a44/visionos Apple has warned users against using the headset while driving, and Tesla's assisted driving features require drivers to keep their hands on the wheel at all times, Gizmodo reported.
