Picture shows an isthmus linking the peninsula Stórhöfði (In English: Great Cape), believed to be the windiest place in Europe, to the village of Vestmannaeyjabaer on the island of Heimaey, the largest of the Westman Islands (Vestmannaeyjar), an archipelago located south of mainland Iceland, in the Suðurland region. Part of the rocky coastline can be seen with a black sand beach, a country road, and, in the background, on the mainland, the Eyjafjallajokull glacier with its eternal snow. The volcano Eyjafjöll below it is the one responsible of the eruption of 2010 that led to a massive closure of the aerial space in Europe.
