Hiroshima A-Bomb Dome (Genbaku Domu), Twilight View - stock photo
"One of the only buildings left standing after the nuclear bomb was dropped on August 6, 1945, the Hiroshima A-Bomb Dome has been preserved to remind us all of the awesome destruction an atomic bomb is capable of. This photo was taken on the anniversary (August 6th) after dark when thousands of people write messages on lanterns and float them into the river to honor the spirits of the 160,000 who died in the bombing. Focus is on dome and because it was an exposure of a few seconds, there is slight motion blur in the floating lanterns."
