Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico - December 9, 2019: The Minerva is a circular fountain, with a diameter of 74 meters, on a traffic roundabout at the intersection of Avenida Adolfo López Mateos, Avenida Ignacio L. Vallarta, Diagonal Golfo de Cortés and Circunvalación Agustín Yáñez in the city of Guadalajara, in the state of Jalisco, Mexico. In the centre it features an eight metre high statue of the Roman goddess Minerva (or Athena in Greek mythology). The statue is by sculptor Joaquín Arias Méndez (1913 - 2013) and it, along with the fountain, was inaugurated in 1956.
