(Original Caption) Willie Mays expresses his appreciation here, after receiving two coveted awards from the National League President Warren Giles between games of a double-header at Candlestick Park against the St. Louis Cardinals on July 4th. The San Francisco centerfielder accepted plaques for the National Leagues Most Valuable Player of the Year in 1965 and the Mel Ott Award for the Most Home Runs in 1965.
