Joseph McCarthy Pointing at Map
(Original Caption) 6/10/1954-Washington, DC: Angriest clash of the 30-days-long McCarthy-Army hearing came June 9th when Army counsel Joseph N. Welch (l) denounced Sen. Joseph McCarthy as a "cruelly reckless character assassin." McCarthy had charged Welch of trying to "foist on the committee" a lawyer with former Communist Front affiliations. McCarthy is shown as he testified on Communist Party Organization with the aid of a huge map of the United States. Complete Caption In Envelope BPA 2 #1906
