MAY 3 1974, MAY 28 1974, JUN 1 1974 Veterans March In Search Of Support Participants in a march from Boulder to Denver by Vietnam Veterans Against the War/Winter Soldier organization trek along U.S. 287 about a mile south of Lafayette Friday. The march ended with a rally at the Colorado Capitol in downtown Denver Friday evening. Its purpose was to generate local support for a national demonstration by the group in Washington, D.C., July 1-4. The organization is demanding amnesty for deserters and draft-dodgers, implementation of the Southeast Asian peace agreement and an end to U.S. aid programs there, "single-type discharges for all veterans," "decent" benefits for veterans and the removal of President Richard Nixon from office.
