WASHINGTON, DC - AUGUST 23: The Washington National Cathedral continues to undergo repairs 12 years after the 2011 earthquake that damaged the central church on August 23, 2023 in Washington, DC. The 5.8 earthquake extensively damaged the landmark cathedral, which stands at the highest point in the nation's capital. An identical turret on the southeast side of the cathedral will also be disassembled, repaired and reinforced as part of the $26 million restoration project. (Photo by Chip Somodevilla/Getty Images)
