Rio de Janeiro reinforces security for the Olympic Games

The mayor of Rio de Janeiro, Eduardo Paes, brought together municipal authorities, the state and the federal government to discuss operational matters of the city of Rio de Janeiro during the Olympic Games and also to deal with issues related to public safety. The meeting was held at the Rio 2016 Committee building in Estacio region near the Rio Downtown. The building is policed by agents of the "Força Nacional" and there are security apparatus to access the site, including bags scanners and detectors of metals.
