The Future of the Mighty Mississippi is at a Crossroads
LITTLE FALLS, MN -NOV 11: The city motto for Little Falls is, "The Town Where the Mississippi Pauses." It pauses more often in the winter when some of the flow is slowed by freezing temperatures that turn some of the Mississippi River into ice. Aviator Charles Lindbergh was from Little Falls and tours are offered of his boyhood home. -Photo essay follows the Mississippi River from it's source at Lake Itasca, Minnesota to its end point 2,320 miles downstream at the Gulf of Mexico, 100 miles south of New Orleans. Many towns and cities along the river are hoping to get some of the funding to upgrade river facilities as a result of the proposed Trump infrastructure push. (Photo by Michael S.
