The Beast From The Earth And The Adoration Of The Beast From The Sea

The Beast from the Earth and the Adoration of the Beast from the Sea; Dyson Perrins Apocalypse, about 1255-1260. Additional Info: Completing the trinity of Satan's workers, a third creature with "two horns, like a lamb" (Apocalypse 13:11) now emerges from the earth. The illuminator depicted the creature with cloven hooves, a red beard, and a hideous curved and pointed nose. Rising from the depths of the earth, this horrible creature forces people to pay homage to the seven-headed beast and even pushes a man forward toward the beast. It also makes "great signs" such as the fire that rains down from the heavens. Creator: Unknown. (Photo by Heritage Art/Heritage Images via Getty Images)
