K-Pop Concert In South Korea
SUWON, SOUTH KOREA - JUNE 18: South Korean K-Pop fans, mostly of a boy band called Exo, chher as a K-Pop band perform on stage on June 18, 2016 in Suwon, South Korea.The particular concert was organized by the city government of Suwon, commemorating the 220th anniversary of Suwon-Hwaseong Fortress, a UNESCO heritage site. It featured 25 K-Pop idol groups and solo artists for two days: June 17 and 18, 2016, drawing more than 10,000 visitors. The South Korean government, both on a central and local level, try to boost tourism by sponsoring and directly organizing K-Pop concerts in big venues. The fans come from Korea as well as Japan, China, and Southeast Asia, as the popularity of K-pop had rapidly grown after it started in Japan in the early 2000s, and expanded its fan base to teenagers and young adults in China, Southeast Asia, and as far as Latin America.
