Post-Revolution Cuba, 1959
Some half-a-million farmers and farmworkers arriving at the Estacion Terminal Ferroviaria de La Habana (Havana Railway Terminal) ahead of the journey on the waiting buses to the University of Havana to show their support for agrarian reforms initiated by Fidel Castro's revolutionary government in Havana, Cuba, 26th July 1959. Following the Cuban Revolution, the Institutio Nacional de Reforma Agraria (INRA) sought to redistribute land to those who had worked it, to cooperatives, and the state, adapting the Soviet model of organisation, with small collectives (Asociacion Nacional de Agricultures Pequenos) as well larger state farms.
