The Kaltenborns on Ship
(Original Caption) Rolf Kaltenborn, son of H.V. Kaltenborn, radio news commentator, who was attacked by Nazis because he did not salute a passing detachment of Nazi storm troopers carrying the Nazi flag in Berlin, returned to New York Sept. 11 on the S.S. Kungsholm. A protest lodged with the U.S. Consul General in Berlin resulted in an official apology by the German government. The Kaltenborns are shown above as they arrived, left to right: Rolf Kaltenborn, Anais Kaltenborn, Mrs. Kaltenborn and H.V. Kaltenborn.
