GABON-POLITICS-ELECTION
Residents queue at a bakery in the center of Libreville on August 30, 2016 as they rush to stock up on bread fearing unrest when the official results of the Presidential Election will be released later during the day.
Gabon's presidential election "lacked transparency", the head of the 73-strong EU electoral monitoring team in the country said on August 29, 2016, a day before the official results were due out. Speaking to reporters in the capital Libreville, Bulgarian MEP Mariya Gabriel said Saturday's vote in the oil-rich Central African country, was "managed in a way that lacked transparency."
