Residents of Porte-au-Prince's notorious
PORT AU PRINCE, HAITI: Residents of Porte-au-Prince's notorious Cite Soleil slum demonstrate support for ex-president Jean Bertrand Aristide as hardline supporters of the ousted leader turned over weapons to police 17 March 2004 in the Haitian capital. About 30 light weapons were handed over to the new police chief Leon Charles at an outdoor ceremony, marking the first time in the current crisis that militant Aristide supporters voluntarily laid down their arms.
