G. David Schine Holding up Large Picture Poster in Court
(Original Caption) Private G. David Schine holds up a huge blowup of the Army's version of the photo of him and Army Secretary Robert Stevens during his testimony about the incident at the McCarthy-Army dispute hearing on April 29. Schine testified that Stevens asked to be photographed with him. Senator McCarthy's point about the picture is that Stevens deliberately arranged to have his picture taken with Schine. Chief Counsel Roy Cohn offered the picture on April 26 as "documentary" proof that Stevens tried to appease McCarthy by being especially nice to Schine.
