French Catherine Cesarsky, the European
Prague, CZECH REPUBLIC: French Catherine Cesarsky, the European Southern Observatory (ESO) Director General, smiles 23 August 2006 in Prague during the International Astronomical Union (IAU) meeting as the world's leading astronomers are discussing there a new definition of the word "planet" to take into account the most recent scientific discoveries. Cesarsky, who received a degree in Physical Sciences at the University of Buenos Aires and graduated with a PhD in Astronomy in 1971 from Harvard University (Cambridge, Mass., USA) and worked at the California Institute of Technology (CALTECH), will be nominated 24 August the President of IAU.
