Anti-Aparteid protesting
Police with batons drawn and wearing riot helmets confront anti-apartheid protesters outside the rugby ground where the touring South African Springbok team was playing its third match Saturday. The crowd of about 3,000 demonstrators moved to a nearby park and dispersed, and police reported no incidents or arrests. The Springboks defeated Manawatu 31-19.
