Players of the Soviet Union and United States teams, finalists in the basketball event at the 1956 Summer Olympics, at the Royal Exhibition Building in Melbourne, Australia, 1st December 1956. The Soviet team was made up of Valdis Muiznieks, Maigonis Valdmanis, Vladimir Torban, Stanislovas Stonkus, Kazimiers Petkevicius, Arkadij Botchkarev, Ianis Krouminch, Mikhail Semenov, Algirdas Lauritenas, Yuri Ozerov, Victor Zubkov and Mikhail Studenetskij, and the USA team is comprised of Carl Cain, Bill Houghland, Kenneth 'KC' Jones, Bill Russell, James Walsh, William Evans, Burdette Haldorson, Ron Tomsic, Dick Boushka, Gilbert Ford, Robert Jeangerard, and Charles Darling.
