(Original Caption) Ohio State on probation for "no less than one year." Chicago, Illinois: Big Ten Conference commissioner Kenneth L. "Tug" Wilson, who made a personal inquiry into allegations that Ohio State University's head coach had made gifts and loans to players out of his own pocket, is shown in Chicago as he announced that the university is placed on probation for "no less than one year." During the probation period the "Buckeyes" shall "under no circumstances" be considered eligible to represent the Big Ten Conference in the Rose Bowl football game, the announcement said.
