Mourners pray on January 27, 2010 over the fresh grave of "Chemical Ali" the notorious cousin and henchman of Saddam Hussein who was executed two days ago for gassing thousands of Kurds in 1988, at the family's cemetery in the late Iraqi president's native village of Awja. Ali Hassan al-Majid, better known by his macabre nickname, was buried late on January 26, 2010 near the northern Iraqi town of Tikrit beside six other graves, including those of Saddam and his two sons. Majid was hanged on January 25 for crimes committed during Saddam's reign after having received a total of four death sentences, the latest one earlier this month for the Halabja attacks.
