Members of the Second Senate of Germany's Federal Constitutional Court (Bundesverfassungsgericht) have taken their seats at the court in Karlsruhe, southern Germany, on January 23, 2024, before their judgement on party funding for the extreme right-wing "Die Heimat" (formerly NPD) party: (L-R) Peter Frank, Thomas Offenloch, Astrid Wallrabenstein, vice-president of the Court and chairman of the Second Senate Doris Koenig, Christine Langengeld, Rhona Fetzer and Holger Woeckel. The right-wing extremist party Die Heimat - formerly the NPD - will be excluded from state funding for six years. This means that the party and donations to it will no longer benefit from tax benefits, as the Federal Constitutional Court decided.
