(Original Caption) Meeting the press for the first time since his return from Red China, United Nations Secretary General Dag Hammarskjold (center, holding paper) is shown as he told the newsmen that he made "no deal of any kind" with Red Chinese Premier Chou En-Lai in his dickering for the release of American airmen and other U.N. soldiers held captive in Communist China. He declared that the question of releasing U.N. prisoners was kept separate. From other Far East issues, such as a seat for Red China in the U.N., and recognition of its claim over Formosa. Hammarskjold asserted, however, that from the viewpoint of the U.N., it would be "useful" if the Peiping regime were represented in the 60 nation global body.
