Training Of Ukrainian Tank Crews On Russian Trophy Tanks

UKRAINE - SEPTEMBER 8: Lieutenant general Serhii Naiev, Commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, personally controls a captured Russian T72B3 tank during military exercises on September 8, 2023 in Ukraine. Ukrainian tank crews defending Ukraine in the north of the country conducted training to improve their skills. The training took place in the northern operational security zone in the immediate vicinity of Ukrainian northern border. The tankers repelled the attack of the conditional enemy. The tank crews fired live shots with 125 mm guns from T72 tanks from positions in cover and on the move, after suppressing the enemy forces, they finished off the retreating forces and retreated to the “base” under a smoke screen. All the tanks that took part in the exercises were captured from the Russians in the first days of the full-scale war during the first battles in the north. These are new T72B3 modification tanks, there were no such tanks in Ukrainian arsenal. Also, Lieutenant general Serhii Naiev, Commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, awarded tankmen with badges for the performance of combat tasks and service to the Ukrainian people. And personally, demonstrated his skills in managing trophy equipment. (Photo by Roman Petushkov/Global Images Ukraine via Getty Images)
