SOFTER DAVID LYNCH SHIFTS FROM DARK MOVI
Hollywood, UNITED STATES: SOFTER DAVID LYNCH SHIFTS FROM DARK MOVIES TO THE LIGHT OF MEDITATION Film director David Lynch poses for a photograph at his studio in Hollywood, California, 20 July, 2005. Lynch, who has for decades disturbed audiences with his dark and unsettling films, is refocusing his energy on calming the world through meditation. The maker of sombre movies like "Blue Velvet," "Twin Peaks" and "Mulholland Drive," in which man's inner violence emerges as characters are besieged by society, wants to help the world find inner peace. Eschewing his cinematic themes of fear, death and betrayal, the silver-haired icon of psychological cinema noir talks of "bliss," "love" and "dynamic peace" as he describes transcendental meditation. "You dive into a field of pure creativity, pure bliss, the sweetest nectar of life and where that happens lies within," he told AFP in an interview in his gleaming and high-tech Hollywood Hills studio.
