Hale, wealthy rancher and oilman, and others were indicted by the federal court at Guthrie, Okla., and charged with the murder of Henry Roan, wealthy Osage Indian, one of nine slain, according to federal agents, by a murder ring which sought to obtain the fortunes of the Indians, which they received from their oil lands.
