Guns Amnesty Collection in Birmingham

Detective Superintendent John Hesketh of West Midlands Police with some of the more than 800 weapons handed in during this month's gun amnesty. The weapons displayed , include an Uzi sub machine gun, *..a Bruni immitation handgun which is easily converted to fire live ammunition, an AK 47, a Thompson sub-machine gun and a rocket launcher. The Home Office say the month-long firearms amnesty which ends at midnight has seen an estimated 20,000 weapons handed in to police across the country and that 483,000 rounds of ammunition have also been taken out of circulation.
