(Original Caption) 1/29/1956-Cortina D'Ampezzo, Italy- Toni Sailer of Austria, 20-year-old ski prodigy, is carried on the shoulders of fans after winning the men's giant slalom in the Winter Olympics at Cortina D'Ampezzo. He and two Austrian teammates swept the first three places in an unprededented Olympic feat. Sailer's time of 3 minutes 1/10 seconds for the 1.65-mile course was a fabulous 6.2 seconds faster than the second place winner.
