Archangel Michael appears to Joan of Arc in her fathers garden. Aged 13 years old. As a teenager, Joan was reported to have heard voices of Saints Margaret the Virgin and Catherine of Alexandria and Archangel Michael, inspiring her to lead the French army during the Hundred Years War against the occupying English and Dukes of Burgundy (1429 - 1430) Illustration by Boutet de Monvel, c. 1896.
