Sydney Ocean Pools

There are some 35 ocean pools spread along Sydney's coastline. Unique to Sydney and NSW, ocean pools provide a safe place for swimmers not confident navigating waves and currents in the ocean. The first ocean pools were built in the 1800s, with the last carved into the ocean rock in the 1960s. Each pool is unique in shape to fit the surrounding rocks and landscape, and access to the majority of them is free or requires a small fee for the use of showers and lockers.
