Frank Kanas sits in grim silence reflecting upon President Eisenhower's stern "code of conduct" for American soldiers in future wars. The six point credo issued today, starts out with the words, "I am an American fighting man." It decrees that military men must be prepared to die in defense of their country and "our way of life." It warns against giving the enemy information "harmful to my comrades" or accepting "parole nor special favors" from the enemy. The code, an outgrowth of cruel Communist treatment of American POWs in Korea, is the first ever drawn up by the United States. It was put into effect by executive order today at the summer white house in Colorado. Cpl. Kanas, 24, of Philadelphia, PA was photographed at the National Catholic Community Service USO. He is stationed at Mitchell Field with the
