The Pneumatic Post (Victorian engraving) - stock illustration
The pneumatic post was a method of despatching letters using pneumatic tubes which ran from Euston Square to Holborn and the General Post Office in London. It was not a success, unlike similar services in Paris and Vienna. From “The Cottager and Artisan” for 1885. Published by The Religious Tract Society, London, 1884-85.
