Woods of Turkey's Eastern Anatolia under her protection

ERZINCAN, TURKEY - MARCH 08: Hatice Arikan, only female ranger in charge of woods of 6 provinces in Turkey's Eastern Anatolia region goes to a location to check if there's something unusual after being tipped off by a phone call in Erzincan, Turkey on March 08, 2017. Arikan (29), a graduate of Forest Management Academy of Suleyman Demirel University says people look after their woods as if they're their own children and that makes their work easier, adding that she works with enthusiasm despite some difficulties involving her job. Director of Erzincan Forest Management Tekin Isik tells that the rangers like Arikan works around-the-clock and they assume the duties of police at police prencincts and the duties constabulary at constabulary prencincts. 'They patrol day and night, traveling kilometers in order to make effective fight against smuggling. Arikan is not only the only female guard here but also she works alone as the other ranger appointed to another region, and as being her superiors we're very much pleased by her work' he says.
