Caption: KULLUK VESSEL, SITKALIDAK ISLAND, ALASKA-JANUARY 4, 2013: This image shows Shell Global’s mobile drilling vessel the Kulluk­ grounded 228 meters off Alaska’s Sitkalidak Island. Sitkalidak Island is located 490 kilometers south of Anchorage and just southeast of Kodiak Island. The Kulluk had been used for exploratory drilling in the Beaufort Sea earlier this year.
