DENVER, CO, NOV., 19, 2005 - Thirteen foster kids will become officially adopted in a ceremony at the Project 1.27 office. One family, the Williams, is adopting three kids! They are the first Project 1.27 family to finalize their adoptions. On this National Adoption Day, the State of Colorado and Project 1.27 would like to invite the community to attend the ceremony with a reception to follow. Media will be able to interview the family, and speak with representatives of Project 1.27. They will also be able to witness all 13 children remove 13 flowers from a giant banner representing the 875 kids that were available for adoption in Colorado one year ago. Project 1.27 was started with a goal of finding forever homes for all children available for adoption in the Colorado foster care system. Through Project 1.27, Colorado churches help recruit, train, and support new adoptive families. The Williams family have two bilological children, and finalized the adoption on three today.
