Bandh Continues In Jammu For Third Day Over AIIMS Issue
JAMMU, INDIA - AUGUST 2: Private buses at general bus stand during a protest against BJP on the third consecutive day as a part of agitation being carried out by an amalgam of over 70 organisations to press for setting up an AIIMS in this region of the state, on August 2, 2015 in Jammu, India. Clashes broke out between activists of BJP and AIIMS Coordination Committee (ACC), which has called for the bandh to press for setting up the premier health institution in Jammu. The bandh was called despite Union Health Minister JP Nadda announcement that an AIIMS-like facility would be set up in Jammu and Kashmir regions. The BJP said that the Centre has agreed to set up an AIIMS in Jammu but those with vested interests are exploiting the people for political gains. But the ACC said they will stick to their demands until a proper notification is issued for a separate AIIMS. (Photo by Nitin Kanotra/Hindustan Times via Getty Images)
