SERBIA-HISTORY-YUGOSLAVIA-TITO

Picture shows the private saloon of former President of Communist Yugoslavia, Josip Broz Tito, at the "The Blue Train" carriage in a depot in Belgrade on December 11, 2014. The Blue Train (Plavi voz, in Serbo-Croatian), was built in 1959 for special purposes of former President of Communist Yugoslavia, Josip Broz Tito. Designed as a place that provides accommodation, working conditions and opportunity to complete all protocol obligations while traveling, this train was real residence on wheels in the country and abroad. The interior in Art Deco style was mostly made of wood (mahogany, pear and walnut). President Tito had over 60 politicians from all over the world as guests in his Blue Train, including Queen Elizabeth II, Jawaharlal Nehru and Haile Selassie. But now holidaymakers, keen on learning more about the history of former Yugoslavia, can take a trip in the ex-President's state carriages as part of an escorted tour.
