Remains Of Fifteen British WW1 Soldiers Re-interred In Northern France

BOIS-GRENIER, FRANCE - OCTOBER 22: Members of the 4th Battalion The Yorkshire Regiment lower a coffin holding the remains of a World War One soldier during a re-burial ceremony at the Commonwealth War Graves Commission Y-Farm Cemetery on October 22, 2014 in Bois-Grenier, France. The remains of 15 Soldiers of the 2nd Battalion York and Lancaster Regiment of the British army, who were killed in the opening months of World War One on October 18, 1914 were discovered in 2009 during construction work near the French village of Beaucamps-Ligny. Using DNA tests on samples provided by their surviving relatives it has been possible to identify 11 of the soldiers. Those who have been positively identified and whose surviving family members have been traced are: Private Herbert Ernest Allcock, Private John Brameld, Private William Butterworth, Corporal Francis Carr Dyson, Private Walter Ellis, Private John Willie Jarvis, Private Leonard Arthur Morley, Private Ernest Oxer, Private John Richmond, Private William Alfred Singyard and Lance Corporal William Henry Warr.
