NABI SALEH, WEST BANK, PALESTINE - 2015/01/23: A masked Palestinian youth who is on the frontlines of a demonstration near the entrance of the West Bank town of Nabi Saleh hurls a lit tire towards Israeli soldiers who closed the entrance of the town. Weekly Friday demonstrations against the Israeli military occupation and illegal Israeli settlements across the West Bank, Palestine were stopped and dispersed by Israeli soldiers in various towns. In Nabi Saleh, a small Palestinian village, located northwest of Ramallah, villagers and international activists gathered to march from the center of the village to their lands across the road. The march was stopped by Israeli soldiers whom blocked the entrance of the village with Israeli army jeeps and began to fire tear gas at protesting youth and elderly people. Villagers from Nabi Saleh have been gathering every Friday for many years now as a means of peaceful protest against the confiscation of their land by the Israeli government. Vast swaths of farm land belonging to Palestinian families from the village have been seized by the Israeli government and have been used to build the illegal Israeli settlement named Halamish.
