NEPAL-QUAKE

In this photograph taken on May 13, 2015, Nepalese resident Dil Bharati, 72, and who lost several fingers when the roof of her house collapsed on top of her during an earthquake is taken from a stretcher and placed on a bed at a Norweigian Red Cross medical clinic set up after two earthquakes in three weeks shook the country in Chautara in north-eastern Nepal. Ministries in Nepal battled May 14, 2015 to get aid to some of the remotest terrain on Earth, working from tents and makeshift shelters after an earthquake severely damaged government buildings in the capital. May 12's deadly 7.3-magnitude quake triggered landslides and brought down buildings weakened by an even larger tremor on April 25, 2015 that killed more than 8,000 people and destroyed nearly half a million homes. Nepal's government, which admits to being overwhelmed by the scale of the April 25 disaster, is now racing to deliver relief to remote mountainous areas in the east of the country worst hit by the latest quake.
