NOV 29 1978, DEC 1 1978 Fire Truck is Hearse for Old Friend Longmont's first motorized fire truck "old Ironsides," passes a fire hydrant on the way to local cemetery carrying the body of Frank "cap" Cantonwine, Longmont's first paid fireman. Cantonwine, who had painted the city's fire hydrants for years without charge after his retirement, requested that the old truck bear him to his last resting place.
