BETHLEHEM, WEST BANK - 2014/11/07: An Israeli soldier, crouched behind a trash bin, reloads his M-16 that he was aiming at Palestinian youth in Bethlehem, West Bank. After another turbulent week in Jerusalem, Palestinian factions called for another day of rage on Friday across the West Bank and Jerusalem, following noon prayers, after the killing of an alleged Palestinian suspect who drove his car into a light railway station killing one Israeli border police man and injuring at least a dozen others in Jerusalem on Thursday. Ibrahim Al-Akkari, allegedly rammed his car into pedestrians waiting at a tram stop in Jerusalem. He fled the scene but was later killed by Israeli forces. The Palestinian group Hamas, claimed responsibility for the hit-and-run and their counterparts, Islamic Jihad warned that such attacks and violence would increase in Jerusalem as a direct response to Israels stringent security restrictions on Al Aqsa Mosque. Over the past weeks Palestinian Muslims were unable to freely go to Al Aqsa Mosque and were forced to pray in the streets. This coupled with right-wing Israelis visiting the compound during these times along with last weeks brief but historic brief closure of the mosque has brought tensions between Israeli Jews and Palestinian Muslims to a boiling point. Added to the incendiary measures, the past weeks have seen a series of hit-and-run reprisals from Palestinians, as a response to the earlier deaths of two young Palestinian children in the West Bank who were hit by an Israeli settler car.
