Caption: TINGZIKOU DAM, CHINA-JANUARY 23, 2013: After a 50-year delay, construction on the Tingzikou Dam is nearly complete, as seen in this image from January 23, 2013. The Tingzikou Dam is located in central China along a rugged valley on the Jialing River, downstream from the city of Guangyuan. Construction of the Tingzikou Dam was approved to mitigate flooding, provide irrigation, support a 1,100 MW hydroelectric power station and improve river navigation.
